Becuase I've submitted a non-robots.txt page I run, to webcite to be archived by them. I've been submitting it since July (it changes very often, and these changes are very interesting to view).

WebCite and Internet Archive (both members of the International Internet Preservation Consortium) are in talks about this. It is WebCite's aim to create a distributed storage & retrieval infrastructure, which would involve depositing "webcited" material in IA. Currently this is not yet implemented, mainly due to lack of manpower to implement this. However, we will pursue this with increased priority.

Does WebCite archive it's cited sites (wow, mouthful!) with Internet Archive? Curious on developments since this post. What would happen if WebCite "went away" - how do we access cited links in that case? (especially if link is a web page and not a PDF paper and does not have a previously generated OID)
